For Anthony Albanese, a taxpayer funded late-term abortion bonus is not enough. He now wants to force private employers to pay as well.

His government is seeking to bring in legislation to force employers to pay parental leave to women who have late-term abortions.

This is sick. A stillbirth is not the same as a late-term abortion.

You shouldn't have to pay a bonus, and employers shouldn't have to provide paid parental leave for late-term abortions.

STOP LABOR’S LATE-TERM ABORTION BONUS

Killing a baby after 20 weeks and up until birth entails injecting the baby’s heart with potassium chloride or digoxin and is followed by the early induction of labour of that now stillborn baby.  

This is a deliberate and wilful act to kill a healthy baby very late in pregnancy and deliver them stillborn. 

In South Australia, 80% of late-term abortions kill healthy babies.

In Victoria, nearly 1 in 2 babies who are killed via a late-term abortion are perfectly healthy and killed in a non-emergency situation.

129 healthy babies were killed in 2020 alone for a “psychosocial reason” in Victoria – this means the baby and mother were perfectly physically healthy.



It is monstrous these babies are being deliberately delivered stillborn rather than delivered alive and then placed for adoption.

It is the policy of the Albanese Government to pay women for elective stillbirths (aka late-term abortions) which kill healthy babies after 20 weeks and up until birth.

Parents who deliberately kill their healthy, viable child can choose between a Stillbirth Parenting Payment of $4255 or a Paid Parental Leave Payment of $20,147.

The Howard Government’s Baby Bonus was criticised because it incentivised teen pregnancies. This is far, far worse. Instead of receiving a $5000 cash payment for birthing a baby at full term, the Albanese Government is now incentivising late-term abortion in half the time.

We, the undersigned, call on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Minister for Social Services Tanya Plibersek to immediately halt the use of taxpayer funds to pay a late-term abortion bonus to parents who have deliberately undertaken an elective stillbirth after 20 weeks.

The Stillbirth Parenting Payment and/or Paid Parental Leave SHOULD NOT be available for late-term abortions which kill healthy babies after 20 weeks and deliver them stillborn.
