Young Community Forum on Abortion in NSW
John Ruddick MLC's Abortion Law Reform Amendment (Sex Selection Prohibition) Bill 2025 seeks to:
- Make it unlawful to perform or assist in an abortion where the primary reason is the child's sex.
- Ensure prenatal technology is used for healthcare, not discrimination.
- Send a clear message that boys and girls are equally valuable.
The fate of this crucial bill will be decided in September and rests squarely in the hands of the four NSW Nationals in the Upper House.
The Nationals have long represented regional communities built on fairness, family, and common sense. But four of these Nationals MPs voted WITH THE GREENS on abortion just last year.
With the vote approaching, we must hold them to account and demand that they honour the values they claim to stand for. We need your help as their constituents to stand with us.
That is why we are meeting in Young, in the seat of Steph Cooke MP. Her community needs to know what is happening and what steps they can take to help protect babies in NSW.
After you RSVP, we will send you the Young community town hall venue details via email.
